This research project challenges the ‘density done well’ construct and identifies the disconnect between policy and implementation. It highlights the criticality of performance based planning and scheme drafting to support high quality outcomes. This is highly relevant as urban expansion is limited due to constraints and the cost of infrastructure delivery and SEQ’s population grows even in the face of a pandemic. The project provides a thought provoking analysis that tests some of the thinking around current policy
