We will hear a presentation on this important policy release from representatives at Department of Transport and Main Roads and Office of Queensland Government Architect. Following the presentations, a Q&A will be facilitated.

Peppa Brown
Director - Strategic Directions, Department of Transport and Main Roads
Peppa Brown is the Director of Strategic Directions in the Transport Policy Branch, Department of Transport and Main Roads. With an impressive career in leading the development of complex transport policies, Peppa has been instrumental in shaping key initiatives such as Transport and Main Roads' new Movement and Place Policy and Practitioner Guidance, Queensland's Zero Emission Vehicle Strategy, and the Queensland Cycling Strategy
Peppa’s work is underpinned by a deep commitment to creating sustainable and integrated transport solutions, reducing car dependency, and ensuring social equity to enhance the liveability of Queensland communities. As a transport futurist, Peppa and the Strategic Directions team are focused on understanding the drivers of change, leveraging emerging technologies, and navigating the evolving preferences of customers to keep Queensland at the forefront of transport innovation.
Marcus Bennett
A/Manager - Strategic Directions, Department of Transport and Main Roads
Marcus Bennett is Acting Manager, Strategic Directions in the Transport Policy Branch. Since joining the Department of Transport and Main Roads in late 2023, Marcus has played a lead role in the development and delivery the Department’s Movement and Place Policy and Practitioner Guidance.
With over 18 years’ experience as a transport planning professional across both Australia and the United Kingdom, Marcus brings a wealth of knowledge and first-hand appreciation in both the development and implementation of strategic transport and land use policy. With a particular focus on active transport and the delivery of sustainable, equitable and integrated outcomes for people and places, Marcus has a keen interest in supporting the strategic direction of the Department and improving liveability for all Queenslanders.
Josephine MacLeod
Director, Architecture and Urban Design, Office of the Queensland Government Architect
Josephine is a registered architect, urbanist and advocate with over 15 years’ experience working within the built environment. Her current role as Director at the Office of the Queensland Government Architect (OQGA) sees her guiding policy, undertaking design reviews and providing urban design advice to support well made, sustainable and healthy communities throughout Queensland. Josephine is passionate about collaborative design processes that respond to place and the people who interact with them. She has been partnering with TMR on the development of its Movement and Place Policy since 2021, advocating for place-based thinking and expertise to be embedded within the delivery of transport infrastructure. Prior to working for OQGA, Josephine practiced as an Associate Architect, working largely in the public realm to deliver several award-winning buildings and infrastructure projects across Queensland.
