This course explores the basic legal framework for planning in Western Australia.
The Course will identify and explain the nuances of planning law relevant to planners in the state including:
- An introduction to the Statutory planning framework relevant to planning
- The available application pathways
- Legal concepts applicable to assessment of applications and understanding available discretion
- Outline of review/appeal avenues for planning decisions
- The relevance of Aboriginal Heritage and an update on the provisions of new and incoming legislation
The course will be delivered in short seminars by experienced planning lawyers at Lavan.
