About the role
We are seeking a visionary Strategic Planning Coordinator to join our local government and lead a talented team in delivering community-focused planning solutions. Reporting to the Urban Planning and Development Manager, the Strategic Planning Coordinator will oversee the coordination and execution of strategic projects, while providing expert advice to stakeholders and mentoring to the Strategic Planning team.
The position requires a forward-thinking leader who can manage a diverse range of responsibilities, from community engagement to policy development, ensuring the City’s planning functions are delivered efficiently and aligned with the City’s strategic goals.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of Senior Strategic Planner and Strategic Planners, ensuring effective allocation of work and timely project delivery.
- Oversee and contribute to strategic planning projects, including scoping, budgeting, and implementation.
- Provide expert advice to staff, Council, and external stakeholders on urban planning matters, maintaining a solution-focused approach.
- Prepare and conduct community engagement activities in collaboration with team members and external consultants.
- Implement and review urban planning policies and procedures in line with Council directives and strategic objectives.
About the successful candidate
To succeed in this role, you will possess strong knowledge of WA’s Statutory and Strategic Planning Framework, relevant legislation, and proven project management abilities. Comprehensive experience in urban and regional planning, including strategic project management and community engagement, is also important.
Other requirements are:
- A degree in Urban and Regional Planning, or relevant discipline, and eligibility for full membership with the 老澳门六合彩图库.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills.
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
- Highly developed research, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Current ‘C’ class Driver’s Licence.
- Current National Police Certificate.
Experience working in Local or State Government or a related field will be highly regarded.
What we offer
This permanent, full-time position offers a cash salary of $111,392 - $129,437 per annum, dependent on skills and experience, plus superannuation.
