About the Division of Operations and Commercial
The Division of Operations and Commercial at Western Sydney University is dedicated to the strategic planning, development, and maintenance of the University's infrastructure, properties, and commercial activities. We work collaboratively with all areas of the University to support learning, teaching, and research activities while preserving the unique aesthetics of our campuses. Our division also manages the University's sustainability agenda and ensures a safe and healthy environment for all campus users.
About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Project Officer – Engagement to join our Infrastructure Strategy and Planning team. In this role, you will provide high-level project management of “living lab” activities across the campus network, including the application of academic and research initiatives within Western’s significant redevelopment projects. You will conduct research, coordinate activities and collaborate with key stakeholders both within and outside the University to demonstrate innovative, sustainable, and research-informed urban outcomes. The role is also responsible for facilitating stakeholder management and consultation, communications and promotion of initiatives, and supporting Project governance and management.
This is a full-time, ongoing position based at Western’s Hawkesbury campus, although flexible arrangements are available to work at other campuses within the Western network. Please review the position description for further information.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Project Officer – Engagement will be responsible for:
- Conducting comprehensive research to support planning and strategy for various projects.
- Managing project teams and report on activities to project working groups.
- Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
- Facilitating stakeholder management and consultation, ensuring meaningful participation.
- Preparing and present reports, summaries, and other documentation for senior staff and stakeholders.
- Developing and implement effective communication plans for specific projects.
- Maintaining accurate records in accordance with University policies and legislative requirements.
Who we’re looking for
We are seeking a dynamic individual with:
- A postgraduate qualification or progress towards postgraduate qualifications in planning, communications, project management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training with an interest in sustainability and resilience.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects using project management methodologies.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to develop effective working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
- High-level analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to write executive-level reports.
- Experience in handling confidential information with discretion.
