The Role
The position for a highly motivated planner assumes a background in planning in either the public or private sector in NSW and the ability to undertake a range of planning tasks with an emphasis on statutory planning. Equally this is an opportunity for the right planner to learn from others in a practice committed to mentoring, guidance of staff and professional development across all aspects of town planning.
You will proactively work as part of the team, providing support and assistance to other professional staff members, including:
- Research including preliminary site investigations, understanding of planning legislation and local government controls, and technical assistance such as planning reviews to determine issues and preparation of advice
- Participation in the preparation of comprehensive planning reports.
- The preparation of development applications and statements of environmental effects.
- Engagement and liaison with sub-consultants and attendance at meetings with both clients and authority/government representatives.
- Effectively manage numerous projects, competing priorities and deadlines
About You
To excel in this role, you will need
- Tertiary qualification in town planning
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in either the public or private sector in NSW
- Well developed communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Understanding of key planning principles and practices with the ability and demonstrated willingness to learn.
- Working knowledge and understanding of NSW planning approval requirements and familiar with current strategic planning framework
- To be self-motivated and able work both independently as well as be guided by your colleagues
